Handgemaakte traditionele mais pop (Corn Husk doll) Buffalo danser, gemaakt van opgedroogde maisbladeren en afgewerkt met diverse kleuren wollentouwtjes en hertenleren mocassins.

De afmeting is 10 cm x 6 cm x 18 cm hoog

Deze mais pop is gekocht op het Six Nations reservaat in Ontario

Betekenis

For centuries the Iroquios child has played with dolls made from corn husk, some dressed, some plain. Traditionally, play dolls were made without faces, thereby to encouraging the childs imagination. After the intrusion of the European, the heads were sometimes made of dried apples with finger piched, molded features. The newcomers, in turn, adopted the husk dolls and made them for their children.
