Handgemaakte indiaanse spekstenen hanger met daarop de afbeelding van de tree of peace, met een hertenleren ketting en afgewerkt met diverse kleuren kralen.

De afmeting van de hanger is 7 cm x 6 cm x 1 cm, de hertenleren ketting is makkelijk korter te maken.

Deze ketting is gekocht bij een tradingpost op het Six Nations reservaat in Ontario.

The Great Tree of Peace In Iroquois tradition, a great Pine Tree signifies a symbol of peace. As the pine tree is always green, the message of peace never grows old. The six boughs represented the tribes of the Six Nations : Mohawk, Onondaga, Cayuga, Oneida, Seneca and Tuscarora. The four white roots reach out in every direction : north, south, east and west to guide those who seek peace and join the Iroquois under its broad branches. Our elder Brother, the Sun emits warmth and life-giving energy eternally on the symbol of peace. At the pinnacle of the tree a great Eagle keeps watch, ever vigilant for those who would disturb the Great Peace. If danger approached, in whatever fashion, the Eaglewould scream thus warning the Six Nation of any disturbance. Under the Great Tree are buried the war-club and the hatchet, the weapons of the war.
